June's flower is the rose. Genus rosa/family rosaceae
Related to apples,pears,cherries and oddly, raspberry,these are all in the rosaceae family.
There are so many quotes and literature written about roses, that I will pick my favorites.
"What's in a name?"That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet."
(Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare,ca 1600)
Juliet is saying this to Romeo, implying his family name has nothing to do with their love and they should be together.
"If I had a rose for every time I thought of you, I'd be picking roses for a lifetime."
